Bennies welding works has been around for approximately 30 years, servicing a broad base industry. Established by a Mr. Benny Els, thus the name, in April 2005 he sold the business. At the time he employed nine staff and his daughter assisted in the daily management of the business. The decision to keep the name was instant as he had built up good working relationships with many large national companies. The problem came when Bennies Welding Works started tendering on structural steel works to the bigger construction companies. The name posed a bad connotation of a small garage like business run from home. This bad connotation has been a difficult one to overcome, which I am happy to say that we have. Over the past six years we have grown the business to a staff compliment of forty five, employing competent qualified people who in turn are imparting their skills and years of experience on to others. We have added the crane hire and transport to our core business of engineering.
